FAQ's
Do I need ID for my appointment?
Yes. Valid photographic ID is required for all piercing appointments.
For clients under 16, we require:
-
Valid ID for the person being pierced
-
Valid photographic ID for their parent or legal guardian
-
The parent or legal guardian must be present for the appointment
We cannot proceed with a piercing without the required identification.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes! You can bring up to 2 people with you into the piercing room for support.
However, children under 10 are not permitted in the studio unless they are the person being pierced. This is to maintain a safe, hygienic and calm environment.
Can I bring my own jewellery?
No. We do not pierce with customer-supplied jewellery.
All jewellery used for a fresh piercing needs to be suitable for initial wear, correctly sized and professionally sterilised. Using jewellery supplied by us means we can ensure it meets our standards and is appropriate for your piercing.
If you have a particular piece of jewellery you'd like to wear, please speak to us about it. Some pieces may be suitable once your piercing has fully healed.
Can I choose my jewellery?
Absolutely! We have a range of professional-quality jewellery available in different styles, colours, gemstones and finishes.
We'll help you choose a piece that is both beautiful and appropriate for your piercing and healing stage.
Can I have multiple piercings in one appointment?
This depends on the piercings you're having, your anatomy and how many piercings your body can reasonably heal at the same time.
Your piercer will advise you during your consultation and may recommend spacing certain piercings out to support healthy healing.
Do you use piercing guns?
No. We use sterile, single-use needles and professional piercing techniques.
Piercing guns are not used in our studio.
What jewellery do you use for fresh piercings?
We use professional-quality jewellery made from materials appropriate for fresh piercings.
Your piercer will recommend the most suitable jewellery based on the piercing, your anatomy and the healing process.
Can I be pierced with silver or sterling silver?
We do not recommend sterling silver for fresh piercings. Silver can tarnish and react with bodily fluids, potentially causing irritation or discolouration.
We'll recommend suitable jewellery materials for your individual piercing.
Can I be pierced if I am pregnant?
Please let us know if you are pregnant before your appointment. Some piercings may need to be postponed, and we'll advise you based on the piercing you are wanting.
Can I be pierced if I am taking medication?
Certain medications or medical circumstances may affect whether it is appropriate to pierce you.
Please provide accurate information on your consent form and let us know about anything that may affect your ability to heal safely. If you're unsure whether something is relevant, please contact us before your appointment.
Can I be pierced if I have a history of keloids?
Please let us know if you have previously developed keloid scars or have a history of problematic scarring.
A tendency to develop keloids can increase the risk of developing one following a piercing. Depending on your individual circumstances, we may recommend that you do not have the piercing.
Can I be pierced if I am unwell?
If you are feeling unwell, have a fever, infection or a contagious illness, please contact us before attending your appointment.
It may be safer to postpone your piercing until you have recovered.
Can I attend my appointment after drinking alcohol?
No. You must attend your appointment sober and not under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
If we believe you are under the influence or are not in a suitable condition to be safely pierced, we reserve the right to refuse the appointment.
What should I do before my piercing appointment?
We recommend:
-
Eating a proper meal beforehand
-
Staying well hydrated
-
Getting a good night's sleep
-
Arriving at your appointment time
-
Wearing comfortable clothing suitable for the area being pierced
-
Bringing your required ID
Please avoid excessive alcohol before your appointment.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being pierced and won't put unnecessary pressure or friction on your new piercing afterwards.
If you're having a piercing in an area that may be affected by clothing, your piercer can advise you on the best options.
What happens if I'm running late?
Please arrive at the exact time of your appointment — not early and not late.
Our appointments are carefully scheduled, and arriving early can mean there is not space for you to wait in the studio, while arriving late can impact the time available for your consultation and piercing.
Please do not arrive more than a few minutes before your appointment time. If you arrive late, we may not be able to carry out your appointment and it may need to be rearranged.
We appreciate you respecting your appointment time and helping us keep the studio running smoothly.
What happens if I'm nervous?
It's completely normal to feel nervous!
We'll talk you through your appointment, explain what we're doing and give you the opportunity to ask questions before we begin.
You are always in control. If you change your mind at any point before the piercing is performed, simply let your piercer know.
Can I change my jewellery during my appointment?
We'll always do our best to accommodate jewellery changes, but the jewellery you choose must be appropriate for the piercing and its stage of healing.
Your piercer will let you know if a particular piece isn't suitable.
Can I change my jewellery myself?
We recommend not changing fresh piercings yourself.
Jewellery changes should be carried out at the appropriate stage of healing and, where necessary, by a professional piercer to minimise irritation and complications.
How long will my piercing take to heal?
Healing times vary depending on the piercing, your individual body and how well the piercing is cared for.
Some piercings can take several months or longer to fully heal. We'll provide you with appropriate aftercare advice and explain what to expect during the healing process.
Do you provide aftercare advice?
Yes. Aftercare is an important part of your piercing journey.
We'll explain how to care for your new piercing and what is normal during healing. If you're ever unsure about something, please contact us rather than relying on advice from social media or attempting to treat the piercing yourself.
What if I have a problem with my piercing?
Please contact us if you have any concerns about your piercing. We are more than happy to help prior, during or after your appointment. Our care doesn't just stop when you leave our studio. We are here to help.
We would much rather assess the situation and advise you appropriately than have you attempt to diagnose or treat a problem yourself.
Can I bring my child with me while I have my piercing?
Children under 10 cannot accompany you into the studio unless they are the person being pierced.
If your child is attending specifically for their own piercing appointment, they are of course welcome.
Can I bring more than 2 people?
We allow a maximum of 2 accompanying people in the piercing room.
This helps us keep the room comfortable, safe and focused on your appointment.
What if I change my mind about my piercing?
That's absolutely fine. Consent can be withdrawn at any point before the piercing takes place.
Please speak to your piercer if you have any doubts or concerns. We will never pressure you into having a piercing you're no longer comfortable with.
Do I need to book an appointment?
We recommend booking an appointment to avoid disappointment, particularly during busy periods such as Summer and public holidays.
Some services may have limited availability for walk-ins, but appointments are the best way to guarantee your preferred date and time.
